Franz Kafka

Franz Kafka's story stories are somewhat a mystery. The story The Hunger Artist was a mystery because  I, myself, never understood why  an artist like the character in the the book would go for days without eating. It was the only way that the artist could concentrate. By Kafka writing this story I feel like his message to his readers was to do whatever you are comfortable with. Although the story was somewhat a mystery,  it was a way to encourage the readers. Before the Law was more of a mystery than the other story. The ending was left open, leaving me confused. I think the message from that story is do not let one person stop you from doing what you want when you have set your mind to your mission.
